Party Planning

Ideas

Schedule

When planning a preschool party you can use as much or as little time as you want.  Just let Kim or Tracy know ahead of time what the general plan is for that party and we will plan the rest of the day accordingly. The teachers will start the day with our regular class opening period and then turn it over to the party committee for the rest of the days activities.

                                                        Sample Party Day Schedule:

Opening Activity-Teachers

Opening Circle Time-Teachers

     Party Craft– 10:30 Start Time

    Party Game

         Party Snack 11:45 End time

You can plan a movie while they eat a snack or you can plan two games, two crafts and two snacks.  Your Snack can also be your craft ie: Decorate cookies or cupcakes.  It usually works best however if your activities go from one room to the other so you can have some time for setup.

Some parties have treat bags for the kids to take home and some do not.  It is all up to the parents.  Truly the kids are happy with whatever is planned and usually the simpler the better.  So just have fun and the kids will too.

Craft Time Ideas:

The internet is a great tool for preschool craft ideas.  Some great sites you can go to are:

www.Google.com  (type in the theme of your party and preschool crafts)

                www.Familyfun.com

We have lots of craft supplies, feel free to ask for supplies if we have it you are welcome to use it.

Snack time ideas:   We will notify you in advance if there are any allergies you need to be aware of.

            Popcorn

        Goldfish

Graham crackers (you can also turn this into a craft by adding frosting and other things that they can decorate it with.)

Cupcakes (can also be self decorate)

Cookies, these are always a hit you can just hand out cookies or you can make sugar cookies in special shapes and have the kids decorate them and then eat.

Snack mix this can be made at home in advance with cheerios, goldfish, pretzels, fruit loops, raisins or anything else you can think of, mix it together and put in little cups or containers for the kids to eat.

Drinks: Please use drinks that do not have red food coloring in it.  Water is always good, kool-aid, apple juice.

Game time ideas:

Once again the internet is a great source for game ideas.

Google.com  (type in preschool games and you should get a list of great ideas)

Drop the bean bag (this is their most favorite game.  The children all line up on the blue or yellow tape, one child starts the game by walking behind the others and when they find the child they want they drop the bean bag behind that child and then run around the circle until they get back to the original spot and then they sit down.  Then the next child repeats this process.  (This game is very similar to duck, duck goose.)  The bean bag can also be replaced by a seasonal object like a stuffed pumpkin or bean bag snowman or any other item you can think of.

We also have a large parachute that can be used for all sorts of games.  You can also Google parachute games and you will get a list of game ideas.
